One of the videos that I find relevant to robotics is the series Caprica and the essay The Singularity is Near-When Humans Transcend Biology by Ray Kurzweil. These both works agree with the idea that robots are going to be able develop some sort of human intelligence in the future. According to this works robots are going to be able to surpass their abilities and rebel against their creators, humans. In the series Caprica the story is mainly based on the revolution of robots and terrorism that these will created when they realize the meaningless that robots signify to society. This comes to be worst when the terrorist used religion to brainwash these robots against human society. This is related in some ways to the essay in the English 101 course pack, The Singularity is Near-When Humans Transcend Biology in the idea that robots would be able in the future to have their own thinking. This theory in both works of fiction, it’s in mine opinion just a “logical” fear that we have as humans do the technologies advances that we are experiences at this current time.
